WKU 2017-2018 Predictions

WKU has had quite the interesting week on the basketball side. Pretty concerning to be honest.

First, the scholarship of Damari Parris was not renewed on the last day to make such a decision. He was a Stansbury recruit from last year, and dropping him seems to have angered a lot of western fans. Just doesn't seem like the right thing to do to a kid you recruited, and especially on the last day. Barely has time to find a new school to go to.

Second, assistant coach Shammond Williams (yes, that Shammond Williams) resigned the day after Damari's scholarship was not renewed. Who knows if the two were related. What's concerning here is that Shammond was probably WKU's best recruiting assistant, and he is also the godfather of 5* signee Mitchell Robinson. Robinson has been acting odd on Twitter since the news broke.

Shouldn't be this much uncertainty in July.

Go check out Goodmans tweets from today. Seems MR is being pulled towards overseas, getting out of NLI, or staying at WKU.

His mom told Goodman that as of now, he is staying at WKU, so that is a good sign. He is supposed to be on campus by Monday, so I assume we will know by then.

Hilltopper fans are breathing easy again. Mitchell arrived on campus Sunday night. Everyone is accounted for except Top 100 4* Jordan Anderson. He is still finishing some academic requirements, according to the program.

Some assistant news also came out today. Mike Hsu, the ace recruiter for University of New Mexico is making the move to WKU only a few months after taking the UNM job. Apparently he is getting a big raise compared to his UNM salary. Arguably one of the best recruiters in the country.

Another assistant being added is Nikita Johnson from Stetson. He recruited/coached many NBA players, with over 50 total players going professional. He was an assistant at LSU during their final 4 run.

Good moves for the program. They'll be fine.
