Reds @ Dodgers (6/9 - 6/11)

Featured Replies

The Reds begin a six game West Coast swing with a three game series against the Dodgers. The Reds are in high gear after sweeping the Cardinals at home in four straight games. It looks like the Reds will miss facing Kershaw who pitched Wednesday, but will catch Wood on Saturday (a good chance to give the lefty his first loss of the season). Wood has not pitched since May 26 as he recovers from inflammation in his sternum. He has not allowed a run in his last 25 1/3 innings. Can the Reds win this series?

Probable Pitching Matchups:

Friday 6/9 10:10 PM - Garrett (3-4, 7.17 ERA) vs. Hill (2-2, 4.15 ERA)

Saturday 6/10 10:10 PM - Wojciechowski (1-0, 4.50 ERA) vs. Wood (6-0, 1.69 ERA)

Sunday 6/11 4:10 PM - Adleman (4-2, 4.42 ERA) vs. Ryu (2-6, 4.08 ERA)

pete, you better not derail us. :)

The first game of a series is usually key. If we can steal one tomorrow, we may win this series. Another performance like last time by Garrett could set the stage for a sweep by the evil blue empire .

@LRCW gave me the ball and I'm going to prove out his trust in me.

Zack Cozart credits his success at the plate this year to a slight change in the way he holds the bat in his stance. He now rests the bat on his shoulder until the pitcher begins his delivery instead of holding his hands high. It all started in spring training after being in a slump.

If Zach wants to rest his bat on his head and can hit .340 doing it , I'm all for it.

A couple posters may question why he can't hit .600

Against the Reds, Hill is 3-2 with a 4.05 ERA in his career. He hasn’t faced them since Sept. 29, 2007, when he was a member of the Chicago Cubs. In that contest, Hill tossed six scoreless innings, fanning four and issuing one walk in a 4-0 win by the Cubs.

It's not bad..

Homer with 5 ip, 3 hits, 5K and 1 BB.

Reds bats have gone silent. Only 2 hits through 8. Dodgers lead 6-1. Looking most likely like a two or three loss series. Terrible move by LRCW changing starters. Very Bryan Price-like. If a guy's hot you demand him to take the ball and suck it up and git er done. :)

Wojciechowski will be making the 23rd start by a Cincinnati rookie pitcher this season.

Reds lost yet another game in the first inning. Wood will be hard to come from behind on. LA is really hard on the Reds.
