With Friday night's NewCath victory over the Grant County Braves, Breds Head Coach, Denny Barnes picked up his 200th career coaching victory. :dancingpa

 

Coach Barnes is the only coach in the history of the Newcath Fastpitch program, coming over from the job as Head JV baseball coach to start the fastpitch team 2006.

 

In his 2nd season the Breds had the 3rd best record in NKY, 24-11, and advanced to the Final 8 in the All A State tourney. NewCath was awarded "Coaching Staff of the Year" by NKSCA.

 

His teams have won District Titles in '07, '09, '10, '12, & '13. They have won All A 9th Region Titles in '07, '11, '14, '16, & '17.

I wanted to say something after last nights win, but it was Grant County's Senior Night, and I know Coach Barnes would not have wanted to take away from their celebration.

Congrats to Coach Barnes, great coach and a great guy.

Denny Barnes is representative of all that is good in softball. Congrats on the win total but more importantly thank you and your staff for being the champions of this sport and making it special for those that participate in it !

Congrats. Denny has been a coach, mentor, and friend to me for my whole life. I am very happy that he's finally getting the recognition that he deserved for a long time. The man just knows baseball/softball. Stegman Construction was still better than Belmont though, buddy, ha ha!
