April 4, 20179 yr Yeah that's what I meant. He had to be way down the list. One of the first names I heard
April 4, 20179 yr Being a great employee is different than being good at your job. Being good at your job is something you can't change. It's the effort that makes you a good employee. I get what your saying. But wouldn't you expect effort out of a coach as well, if your going to consider them a great one? It kinda goes hand in hand..
April 4, 20179 yr I get what your saying. But wouldn't you expect effort out of a coach as well, if your going to consider them a great one? It kinda goes hand in hand.. No I definitely agree with you. It's probably time for Matta to go in Columbus. Just saying when he is engaged, Matta is a great coach.
April 4, 20179 yr Mack is coming down 71 in a few years. I would love to see that. I think he'd be a great coach at UL
April 4, 20179 yr Apparently it's a good enough job for Patrick Ewing! Didn't see that one coming. Is that good though? It's a name that wil sell tickets but Ewing isn't a proven coach. I just don't see him being succesful.
April 4, 20179 yr I haven't really been paying that close of attention to this thread, would Miller really leave Arizona for Ohio State? I just don't see that at all. Arizona is a better program at this point than Ohio State is, they are bringing in a hell of a recruiting class, they basically can recruit the whole west coast and only have to compete with UCLA and now maybe Oregon. Here is my rule of thumb, why leave a basketball school to go coach at a football school?Yes.
April 5, 20179 yr Is that good though? It's a name that wil sell tickets but Ewing isn't a proven coach. I just don't see him being succesful. He's been an NBA assistant since 2003, working with the best players on the planet. Just because he's not been coaching college doesn't mean he's coming off the street with zero experience. Now, by the same token, it is fair to say that he is pretty far removed from the recruiting aspect of the college game. That could prove a hindrance to him. Also by the same token, the fact that he's one of the greatest big men in NBA and college history should also speak to recruits. If I'm a highly-rated center coming out of HS, I can imagine the idea of learning under someone such as Ewing would be pretty appealing as far as player development goes. At the end of the day, it could either work out great for G-town or be a dumpster fire. I guess it really depends on what kind of staff he assembles underneath him.
April 5, 20179 yr You are more connected than me but can't see Mack turning down OSU. Other than the money ( how much does he need ) why would he want to go to Ohio State? Right now it certainly isn't a better job.
