Hell of a win by Taylor County and Maze Stallworth once again proves how good of a coach he is. Having done 5th Region reports part time for BGP this season I didn't expect Taylor County to be the one winning this region. Congrats to the Cardinals and good luck next week against Ballard.

 

You (not you, specifically) can say what you want about how TC has operated in recent years, but the kids playing now are tourney-tested. I never gave Oliver much credit before, but the kid's tough as nails, and seems to be able to will them to victory.

Really not surprised by the outcome. Difference I see is that Taylor County played a schedule that would prepare them for adversity & Adair Co. didn't. Taylor played some serious teams this year (and took their lumps) and I just didn't see that kind of challenge from the schedule Adair played.

Oliver is really the only one that saw significant minutes before this year. So I don't buy"tourney tested" line of thinking. There is something to be said for a winning culture and the new coach really did a great job.

 

I really thought the Taylor kids played their hearts out and made the clutch plays.

 

Adair lost their composure and let the pressure get to them. Part of it is due to lack of a tough schedule-completely agree there. They play a wide open-some might say undisciplined style, took a ton of bad shots imo.

100% correct. I think when you have a culture of winning that is handed down and understood by all on the team, it will continue to pay dividends. Gooden and Sloan and Gatewood were all over that group. Stallworth is a really good coach. Oliver is the straw that stirs them. Adair hasn't really been in a position in the latter part of the season where a mistake or a missed shot or two would cost them the game. Their a jump shooting team; it eventually catches up to you
