Williamsburg vs. Pineville

Featured Replies

This is a long running rivalry game, 60 years old I've been told. I believe Pineville leads this series and have heard you can throw out the records when these 2 meet. Pineville is much improved, and Williamsburg seems to be playing tough defense. This is the last time these 2 will meet as district rivals. Any thoughts or predictions?

I'm going to take Williamsburg in this one. Pineville seemed to hang with Lynn Camp for the 1st half, but I think the Jackets offense has been clicking fairly well with the combo of Frazier to Hamlin, and the emergence of Will Moses, Aaron Root, Dusty Brown, and Aaron Brock gives Williamsburg several threats.

On defense, the Jackets have shown a tenacity not seen since the days of Coach Rose. These kids, Led by all district LB Aaron Root will flat out hit you. Tyler Rollins has really stepped up his game on the d-line, and Charlie Bryant has found a home at d-end.

My prediction for this rivalry game is Jackets 31 - Mountain Lions 12

Williamsburg throws all over a not so talented Pineville team.

Williamsburg 42

Pniville 14

Williamsburg 35-8.

The 'Burg by alot...This game might last all night, both will be passing all over the place..

game will end very quick as the Mercy rule kicks in.

Williamsburg alot, Pinevile nothing.

I think Pineville will lose, but I do think they will score on "The Burg" and their "Iron Curtain" defense that apparently exists now.:scared:

Williamsburg is no where near as good defensively as Lynn Camp and Pineville scored 2 early tds on them and were in the ball game at half. This could be a close game. I'll take the Jackets bt 2 tds.

Also, Daddy Cat you almost made it until Thursday without throwing out an sacastic statement on a Wburg thread.:thumb:

I've been running behind all week:D ..........Besides, Pineville is not as bad as they have been and to just assume they won't score on you because of the past is a little sarcastic, also, don't you think? McCreary scored on The Burg and they are no where near as good offensively as Pineville. (And, also, they (Pineville) only scored 2 td's the whole game, early, late or in the middle.) Pineville/LC was supposed to be a close game. I'm not claiming that we have a holes-free defense, but you, of all people, should know that you can't overlook someone's OFFENSE just because of their past performance. New coach in town down there, just like there is a new coach at WHITLEY CO., and elsewhere locally, with a new offense. Pineville's is just doing a LOT better job getting his system in. Williamsburg 35 P'ville 7

I dont believe I assumed anything in my post and I sure hope your prediction is right. Hope I didnt leave any letters out this time. If I did let me know.

Good luck Lynn Camp and Harlan. If I wasnt going to the Wburg game that game should be a dandy. Still think LC gets them 21-7.

Was alluding to the fact Williamsburg has improved on defense greatly, did not mention iron curtain anywhere in my post. I guess I like taking the high ground on posts as i do not critisize nor am I sarcastic about the teams others follow. Since this is a fan's posting site I realize some folks can't contain themselves and can be obnoxious. I realize these high school kids get on here and read posts, and since I can no longer take a snap and playing days are gone, I try to post in such a manner that if a young man who is busting his rear in this sport reads it, he is reading something positive and not smart, derogatory, or degrading. Sorry for the discourse, but sometimes adult fans can be the biggest kids on here.

Williamsburg 42-14
