March 2, 20179 yr Tough decision, but in this league with no QB you have no chance. Without AD for some reason would put the Bengals in that situation if AJ was traded. Unless you get a "Godfather" deal, you have to keep him for one more year. Just common sense to me.

Probably a 2nd at best for AJ and that's not likely

Why would a team overpay at the deadline for a backup QB that is under contract for roughly 10 more weeks and has no familiarity with their system?
March 3, 20179 yr He is one play away from being a starter. I would trade Dalton first. That makes me feel better knowing what you would do. No doubt AD is a keeper now.

Unless a team is willing to give a 1st round pick or at least a high 2nd round pick, then I would keep. I think he is more valuable to keep for another year in case Dalton gets hurt than getting a 3rd or worst for him. Not to mention I didn't realize the Bengals may have McCarron for 2 more years. Since he was basically hurt his whole rookie year, it may not count for a year of service. Which in that case it would not make him a free agent for 2 years. Apparently the Bengals are looking into that possibility. So they may plan on keeping him for sure this year and maybe try next off season.

Unless a team is willing to give a 1st round pick or at least a high 2nd round pick, then I would keep.
