Cincinnati Recruiting 2018

Sounds like he adds depth to the program, you can't have enough of it.

Can never have too many athletes. And he helps keep the momentum going on the local scene with uncommitted guys like Hawkins, Oats, and Chase Wolf.

Fickell swinging for the fences...offered Jaiden Woodbey today....#3 safety in the country, #30 overall....AND already committed to the Buckeyes. Interested to see how that plays out and what made Fickell think he had enough of a chance to offer and try to recruit the kid.

Must be more to this than we know. Why would he offer this kid after committing to OSU? Very interested how this plays out.

From Bucknuts on 247:

Cincinnati steamers … An Ohio high school football coach from SW Ohio that we quote occasionally in the House usually doesn’t pass along recruiting news. However, he contacted us to let us know he’s very confident about the future destinations of two of the top recruits out of the greater Cincinnati area.

And we mean very confident.

“Ohio State is getting Jackson Carman, and Cincinnati is getting Aeneas Hawkins,” the coach said.

How can he be so sure? Well, we’ve been around long enough to know nothing is a certainty in recruiting, but the coach says he has spoken with his colleagues who have given him the scoop.

Frankly, the Carman news isn’t surprising in the least. We always thought the Clemson stuff was mostly Carman having fun with the process and trying to add some intrigue to his eventual announcement.

But Hawkins to UC? We know his father played there, but still, that would be quite the coup for Luke Fickell. And if Hawkins does not pick Ohio State, it is safe to say we are rooting for the Bearcats to land him.

Hawkings will be a huge get for UC. If it does happen I could see a number of the other top players they are recruiting making a commitment as well.
