However, he contacted us to let us know he’s very confident about the future destinations of two of the top recruits out of the greater Cincinnati area. And we mean very confident. “Ohio State is getting Jackson Carman, and Cincinnati is getting Aeneas Hawkins,” the coach said. How can he be so sure? Well, we’ve been around long enough to know nothing is a certainty in recruiting, but the coach says he has spoken with his colleagues who have given him the scoop. Frankly, the Carman news isn’t surprising in the least. We always thought the Clemson stuff was mostly Carman having fun with the process and trying to add some intrigue to his eventual announcement. But Hawkins to UC? We know his father played there, but still, that would be quite the coup for Luke Fickell. And if Hawkins does not pick Ohio State, it is safe to say we are rooting for the Bearcats to land him.
