During last night's game with West Jessamine, Taveion Hollingsworth became the all time leading scorer in Lexington/Fayette County boys basketball history. The previous record was held by Mike Allen who played at Bryan Station and is the current head coach at Tates Creek. Congrats to Taveion on this accomplishment. Taveion has started every game for PLD since he was a freshmen only missing one game in that time due to illness. Also, Taveion didn't play any varsity in middle school. Considering the level of competition he has played against for the last 4 years this is an amazing accomplishment. Again, congrats to Taveion!!

Did Mike Smith play at Sayre? I feel like I've asked you that question before but I can't remember.

Mike Smith played varsity at Sayre from 7th grade until his Sophomore year then finished his last two years at Dunbar.

I've watched him drop 30+ in a varsity game as an 8th grader. That man could play

Mike Smith was legit. He was a lot of fun to watch play. Especially at his size. I never felt like he got the statewide recognition he deserved.

Congrats to Taveion! His name will always be remembered in Lexington high school basketball conversations. He's one of the best scorers I have seen in high school and I especially love his mid range game. His performance at the Sweet 16 last year was legendary and I am grateful to have seen him play multiple times throughout his career. Congrats and good luck at WKU!!!!

@FreeBillyG & @PurplePride92 Mike Smith is a senior @ Pfeiffer University in North Carolina, its a D3 school & they are blowing people out of the water this year. Currently they are 22-3 averaging 108 ppg & have went over 120pts 6 times. The highlights I see, they sure are fun to watch.
