If my memory is correct he was the last coach at HC to win a regional tournament game before Schrand got one last year.

Hate to see either one of these 3 teams' fate come down to a draw, but when push came to shove Holy Cross winning this game to keep their chances alive is admirable. They played a part in controlling their own fate.

 

It was either lose and face CovCath and certain season ending death, or win and hope for the best, which is what they got, and another shot at the Tigers on their home court. What more could they ask for?

 

With a struggling season such as theirs, and now a very possible chance at the regional tourney, what a nice turn around story.

 

Though nothing is yet set and certain, if they get in as a runner up they'll likely have to face either Cooper, Dixie (Lloyd), or NewCath (Newport/Highlands).

 

As long as they can avoid Cooper in the first round they actually will have a fighting chance at making it to the semi's. They're going to have to hope that the stars keep lining up and that their luck keeps following them.

 

Sure the Vegas odds has it all boiling down to Cooper/CovCath in the end, but for my money the interesting part of the upcoming tournament time is to see who's got it in them to continue to survive and advance 'til they hit this inevitable wall.

I wonder when the last time Holmes didn't make it to back-to-back regional tournaments? This is highly likely this season.

I think HC beats Beechwood again, and despite currently being 8 games below .500 I think they come out of the 35th with CovCath for the second year in a row.
