NKU takes down defending conference champs! Huge Win!!!

Very nice!

Norse in 4th place and finish up with 4 home games and 2 road games against bad teams.

Win guarantees a winning regular season record and at worst a .500 overall record!

Cole Murray, Brennan Gillis, and Jeff Garrett were all great last night.

Kanter kid for GB almost single-handedly brought the Phoenix back. He's the brother of Enes, right?

Awesome! Happy for Coach Brannen and the Norse.

Looking forward to the game on Saturday.

Anyone else at the game baffled by the charge call that was inexplicably changed to a block?

I was baffled by this one too. The only possible explanation was another ref saw he was inside the circle.

That had to be the issue, but I guess I'm still baffled because the official who changed the call didn't call a block on the play. I wasn't aware officials were allowed to call a foul only to take it away after the fact??

@Bench, any ideas as to what's going on with Blake Spellman? I've noticed he hasn't been on the bench for a while.

Haven't heard anything. I'll try to find out though.

Guessing this might be the reason.....

I assume the ruling was that NKU player was within the semi-circle under the basket. My understanding is this is only called if a secondary defender does it, but that certainly wasn't the situation in this case. An outside official came in and changed the call, but all he saw was the defender in the semi-circle. There was no way he was in position to know that the NKU player was the primary defender and therefore in legal guarding position. The officials completely took the continuity out of the game with their checking at the table all night. Once NKU had a clear fast break and the official stopped the play to check on the clock. He should have let the play go on and then went to the table.
