These people should have either, A, left days ago, or B, Built an ark to enjoy the ride. Read the thread, I thought this could potentially happen right from the start. So I must have some common sense. Unfortunately, the local officials in that area and engineers must not. How does that make the citizens fools? They were just going by the information being handed down to them from people that "should" know more about the situation than them.

February 13, 20179 yr My girl friend lived south and north of Oroville there, and her mom lived in that area several years ago, so she is familiar with it. She told me that dam is just MASSIVE. I also just read that, if the emergency spillway failed, it would release a 30 foot vertical wall of water into the river valley and would take about an hour to reach Oroville. Though it wouldn't drain the lake, it would still be a LOT of water.
February 13, 20179 yr I know a person who lives out there and they ordered evacuation. He sent his wife and kids but refused to go. What does he expect to do? Only thing he can do is go down with ship. Makes no sense. His family is worried sick.
