Rhinegeist Getting Political

Featured Replies

They can donate their money to whomever or whatever they want.

Why would/should anyone possibly care what they do with it?

The issues with supporting businesses that support polarizing causes isn't new, and in my very humble opinion, is a very real issue. Many years ago there was a stink about the Susan G. Komen Foundation, and their support of Planned Parenthood. Many organizations that donate money to SGK were criticized, and felt pressure from their customers to disengage with the charity. I think you have every right to know where a company makes their charitable donations, and you have every right not to contribute to their top-line revenue as a sign of your dissatisfaction. If there were two iced tea joints, and one donated a portion of their profits to Indiana University Athletics, you can bet I'd buy all my tea next-door.

Would it make a difference if they were publicly held?

I really want to love Rhinegeist as I'm a "Cincy lover " but I havent found a single brew of theirs I care much for . Truth is pretty popular but far too hoppy for me ( wheat beer lover) and lastly even if I did love it I'd boycott it until not a single red cent went to ACLU .

Ha, but what if it was right next door to this tea/coffee shop?

I would never drink out of that cup. Not even if I were thirsty.
