Obama never considered banning travel from any predominately Muslim countries. Trump not only considered it, he has done it. So, he has already proven himself much different than at least one politician. However, I agree that it is no coincidence that the countries left off the list are the ones with which we do business. Trump could argue that although those countries have given birth to multiple terror groups and perhaps thousands of terrorists, the governments of those countries have also cooperated with the United States in many cases during the investigation of terrorist attacks. In Saudi Arabia's case, the royal family members who are in charge have quietly supported Israel behind the scenes, which IMO, is more than former President Obama did. Obama personally did more to elevate Iran's stature in the Middle East than all other presidents combined, since its Islamic terrorists seized control of the government from the Shah (unless you include Jimmy Carter in the list). So, there is another area in which Trump has differentiated himself from at least one high profile politician.
