Sounds like the owners, who also own New Riff Distillery decided it would be more profitable to only focus on the whiskey side of things.

Looks like a new brewery will potentially go into the space.

I go here quite often, usually get things from their guest taps, but still this bums me out a little.

Wait, what? I thought they had just announced they were moving and building a much larger space?

Yeah, I'm not sure. I was surprised when my buddy text me.

I've never gotten to try any of their beers. However, with so many breweries opening over the last couple of years it is inevitable that not all of them will make it.

As long as there remains a brewery and taproom on site, I'm ok with the decision.

It is a fantastic experience. I heard someone once refer to Eight Ball as "the platform 9 3/4 of taprooms" .... great analogy! :)

I would imagine that if it was soley owned and not by another business that was trying to grow at the same time, it would have been just fine. Hard to tell though, but that's how I read it.

I was speaking more in general terms, from a producers perspective there is too much beer out there. Consumers can't drink enough sustain all of them. Not enough shelf space at retail outlets to carry them all, etc.

Yeah for sure. The marketplace is probably to the point where its oversaturated, but I'm certainly not complaining haha!

If I ever really did have a desire to start a brewery, I'd say I missed the boat by about 2 years, in this area at least. Unless I was just doing it for fun and not in it for massive amounts of dollars.

We carried a couple of their brews at the bar I work at. I wasn't wowed by either of them. Guess that's why it took so long to sell through them.

Which ones did you carry?

Preach, Red Drink, and Prodigal are my three favorites.

Really big fan of Red Drink. Definitely was my favorite by them.

Preach and Prodigal was the ones we had.

I didn't realize New Riff's owner owned the Party Source and sold it to the employees. When New Riff's first batch is ready, will it be called New Riff?
