Who is better than him that is not playing at the moment? Last night was a turnover factory, the kids on the bench may be able to score at times but they can't guard anyone, if they had a better option this would be an easier debate

I think I saw a first last night.

 

The tradition at CCH home games is to have a half-court shot contest among students.

 

For the first time I can recall they called out a HC student who calmly splashed his shot.

 

He did it so effortlessly, like he was shooting a free throw. The place went crazy!

That kid can actually shoot the ball pretty well. He's been a fill-in player on our AAU team for years.

If those 5 seniors played together last night it would have been a 50 pt game and CCH didn't play well

He took his defender out of the equation all night, why can't ur seniors score playing 4 on 4? They drive to basket and take ridiculous shots, #5 gets face guarded every game and has any minute he got last couple years as well, u have a 7ft guy at the 3 pt line and u can't drive past him??

Lameier is a backup center and doesn't play much on a jump shooting team. Abernathy didn't dress because he was out of town for the break. The other 3 all had at least 1 basket.

So let me get this straight there is a high school offense where you stand a player in the corner to take away a defender and run your offense with 4 players?

 

The reality is that HC runs a jump shooting offense that depends on the wing players to get open to receive the ball to take a shot. When your wings are limited athletically that offense gets bogged down when the defense can just stand next to a player and take him out out of the game. Meanwhile the PG is forced to dribble the ball into the ground because he doesn't have anyone to pass it to.

 

Apparently HC doesn't practice attacking the rim because, for the most part we don't finish at the rim very well.

I would have to disagree on that totally. Not saying they would have won, but they have definitely faced better competition and prevailed. Of course there were other players as well. One thing is for sure, they couldn't be successful trying to run the offense that HC does..
