UKMustangFan Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 NKU gets the 11 point road win to open Horizon league play. Norse were led by 21 points from each Cole Murray (7-12 from deep) and Lavone Holland. Williams went for 10 & 7 and McDonald 12 & 6. Norse improve to 10-4 overall, and have won 7 of their last 8. They'll stay in Michigan to take on Oakland tomorrow afternoon. Oakland is probably considered the 2nd-best team in the league behind Valpo. Should be a pretty good game.
MentschTrachtGottLacht Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 Funny stat after last night's game: NKU has the best record in the country of teams that allow more points per 100 possessions than they score per 100 possessions. That is a little bit like run differential in Baseball, in that your record typically ends up reflecting that in spite of how it may look early in a season. Either way, EVERYONE would have taken 10-4 through 14 games...John and his staff (and of course the Student Athletes) have done an amazing job thus far.
Clyde Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 Detroit is bad. It's good NKU is to the point where we fully expect them to handle the bad teams even on the road. Looking forward to the Oakland game.

Looking forward to the Oakland game. They've played some good teams close, but they were expected to be at the bottom of the conference, yes.
UKMustangFan Posted December 30, 2016 Author Posted December 30, 2016 Best part about this game was wife and I realized we can watch ESPN3 through our DirecTV. No more laptop streaming of road games!
newarkcatholicfan Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 Usually Detroit is a solid home team, so this is a decent win.

UKMustangFan Posted December 30, 2016 Author Posted December 30, 2016 You must share your secrets... Smart TV....We were watching ESPN and pushed the big red button on the DirecTV remote. It brought up some menu that allowed us to access ESPN3 on the TV. Now the quality of picture is no different than on a laptop or mobile device, but the stream seemed better.
nkufan23 Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 I watch every NKU game that I can via ESPN 3 on my Amazon Fire Box. The quality last night on my 60" was pretty bad. It's usually very good quality HD especially when the games are played at BB&T.
