I took this to mean that if Israel continues to "occupy" territories, then it is choosing to be a Jewish State and not being "democratic" in it's unwillingness to turn over land to those that wish to live there. From his perch, Kerry believes it's in all or nothing proposition...I don't think rational people see it that way.

December 28, 20169 yr Author I'm being completely sincere with my question here....Why do I care if we have an ally in the Middle East? And please don't answer with oil... Trust me when I say I understand your position and for most things I agree. I may even be a hypocrite. But the Jewish people have endured so much hatred and violence throughout history. Arabs tried to ethnically cleanse Jews from the Middle East prior to WW2 and then we had the Nazi's in WW2 with the Holocaust. This group of people needs the worlds super power on their side because history shows us their are many people who use the Jews as scapegoats and want to destroy them. I'm not saying we need to go to war for them but supplying them with weapons and helping them through policy should be our duty. Since they fight the people who want to kill us as well.

Like I said Kerry's long winded speech was a joke and filled with inaccuracies. Israel today 20% of its population is Arab and they enjoy equal rights to Jewish citizens in a democracy. There is one group who refuses to live peacefully with those who are different and it isn't Israel. He also all but confirmed what Israel has been saying and they worked behind the scenes with the Security Council to get this passed. He stated on one hand they didn't "write" the resolution but they "communicated" what they wanted in it to pass it. All but confirms Israeli intelligence and the Egyptian media Report that Kerry spoke with Ukraine directly to get them to vote infavor to get a 14-0 vote for optics.
December 28, 20169 yr Nothing to do with oil, but more to do with world dominance. Part of the reason that Isreal is still a state is because they refuse to back down in the face of overwhelming assaults to their way of life. Much like the United States. We share incredibly similar beliefs about common enemies, people that want nothing more than to destroy the Western philosophy on life. We have seen the beginning of this assault on domestic soil now, from the same enemies. If we do not ally with every possible country out there that believes we are under attack, that our way of life, our freedom, is under assault, then we are not putting ourselves in the best possible position to refute those attacks. Isreal is supremely engaged when it comes to military show of force and actual execution. They respond in force when attacked by terrorist. They do not apologize to anyone for defending their way of life. We need them as an ally and eyes on our enemies, and we need to join with them, rather than abandon them, when we are being attacked, both abroad and domestically. Thanks for the response. While I don't know how in danger we are of world dominance by those in the Middle East it definitely leaves me something to ponder. :thumb:

One of them is not to find myself beholden to the media. If you didn't learn that from this last cycle, that probably explains your rage. Just curious: when did it become the correct thing to hate the Jews and their homeland ? Or am I just not qualified to make that assessment ? Oh, and far from rage. While I don't know how in danger we are of world dominance by those in the Middle East it definitely leaves me something to ponder. :thumb: After thinking about this last night, it occurred to me that the gravity of the Middle East situation may not be accurately portrayed or even discussed in our institutions of learning as they were in the past. You, being an astute young man, probably have not been exposed to the historical depth of the issues with Israel in the Middle East….that concerns me much more and causes time for pondering
