December 29, 20169 yr After thinking about this last night, it occurred to me that the gravity of the Middle East situation may not be accurately portrayed or even discussed in our institutions of learning as they were in the past. You, being an astute young man, probably have not been exposed to the historical depth of the issues with Israel in the Middle East….that concerns me much more and causes time for pondering That may be true, I don't know. Another question for you....Outside of being an ally in the Middle East, what does Israel provide us that we otherwise wouldn't have?

The basis for our relationship with Israel is not political, it's faith based. Our relationship with God's chosen people represents the roots of Christianity in the Modern World that our current system was founded on. Not popular with some, and even more in recent decades, but overall, we are grounded with Israel because of our (global) relationship with God. The hope they provide is more of an example of how people who have been persecuted, since the beginning of modern time at least, can overcome and remain loyal to God through all things. I'm not sure what our political position should be with Israel. Probably continue to support with equipment and intelligence resources, we all benefit from that relationship. They do have the pulse of the head of the snake based on geography, so there is a value in that. I do know this: You go against Israel, you go against God….whether you believe in God or not is an individual decision, but for me and mine, we will take the side of God against evil every day.

I disagree with BirdBrains assestment. We ally with Israel 1. Many groups want them extinct 2. They give us strategic access to the Middle East 3. They have a strong Military and spy network 4. The same people who want to destroy them want to destroy us 5. Because it is the right and ethical thing to do.

There are tons of things that are the right and ethical thing to do that we ignore in the world, so #5 holds no weight with me. Can you explain #2 in detail?

Looks at the countries or terrorist organzation that surrond Israel . Supplying Israel with weapons allows them to fight battles for us . Also if we need access for our Military we have a strategic partner. Israel spy network may be 2nd only to us in the modern world , so being able to share their intel is a huge plus since they live in the region. #5 like I said before may make me hypocrite but as someone who studies history I never want to stand by and allow another Holocaust to happen.
