It would need congressional approval and with Grahm and McCain both saying they want to work with Trump on this it would be hard pressed to do. Anything done by executive action can be reversed by it. My fear is Obama with the Israel Resolution has put Trump in a bad spot. I could see Trump using Russia's help to reverse the resolution on the Security council to lessen any sanction. I saw one Democrat spox yesterday on CNN saying they are talking about putting sanctions on Putins personal accounts in foreign countries. I hope that wasn't a serious thought because we would be starting WW3 on Obama's exit.
December 29, 20169 yr Author President-Elect Trump said today we should "get on with our lives" when asked about Sen Graham's comments about the investigation. He said computers today make it too hard to know who did what.
December 29, 20169 yr He did his sanctions. Do I feel doing something with our intelligence behind the scene made more sense, yes. But I have no problem with these sanctions , but I also don't think they will have any real impact. I'm guessing the Senate wants to go much further .

It wasn't a good idea to make the statement and almost backfired but it did end up getting get good results. Next time it may be them. Trump loves up on Russians but tries to bully Chinese. They are very capable of doing the same thing or worse if there's no consequence.
