Holy Cross (Covington) 2017 Kentucky High School Fast Pitch Softball

From PC. One of the best players in the region/country. In several HOFs and I believe he played for the old Cincinnati Suds.

Calvary had its first practice today and gave a big warming welcome to the new coach with just 3 players showing up. Do we have anyone that would like to transfer to help out.....just kidding but it would be awfully nice.

I'll start a new thread b/c this is a curious topic on what kids/families can do in small schools where a team sport can't be fielded with enough players...assuming Calvary Christian dont get enough players to come out for softball.

I was the ony coach on the staff last year hired by Chip, the other assistants/coaches from previous years were asked to stay to help bridge the gap. I know whats going on with the team, even though I don't coach there anymore and can assure you that it has nothing to do with basketball players. The last count was that there is only 2 basketball players going to play with maybe a 3rd one.

I'm sorry to hear that. My daughter plays for Ludlow. I always thought that both teams played each other well last season. It is definitely hard for small schools to field softball teams. Ludlow struggled last year with numbers, JV wasn't really an option and there were quite a few girls on varsity who had never played before.

 

I hope Calvary gets the numbers they need for a team.

Thanks and I hope they do too for my daughters sake. Calvary is just different when it comes to sports. I know there small, but when you turn a program around...you would think you could get some backing.

According to KHSAA, Calvary has a total of 61 girls enrolled. It seems like they usually do a very good job considering the numbers they have to work with.
