Should Bob Stoops Lose his Job for This?

Featured Replies

On the surface it looks bad but I need a lot more information about this whole story before I could make any determination.

Even I dont have to know anything other than what he just did. DANG, he knocked her out. I dont care what she said, she didnt deserve that.

What do you need to know more about...what Mixon did? Or how Oklahoma handled it?

I think the question is was the original 1 year suspension punishment enough. Forget the video, that changes nothing. Do you need a video to know he hit her, knocked her out, fractured her face?

So I'll ask again, where was the outrage 2 years ago when this happened? When OU announced the punishment were are the threads calling for Stoops to be fired?

This brings up an interesting scenario. When it comes draft time will this kid get drafted? Ray Rice's career ended when everyone saw the video of him knocking out his girlfriend. How will a team now justify giving this idiot a job?

You're giving NFL owners too much credit. His career ended when he average 3.1 yards per carry and looked like the tread was off of the tires.

Speaking just for me personally, I didn't know about it until the last week or so.

I had not even heard of this story until now. I would need to know how the university handled the situation and if the player was punished. I'm reading here that he was suspended for a year. Sounds like something was done. Am I supposed to want the coach fired because he didn't make this tape public?

Ok, gotcha. Just wanted to be clear on what you were needing to know more on. Yes, he was punished. The out rage is now that the tape was released and everyone sees the hit, why wasn't Mixon dismissed from the team instead of just suspended.

Fully realizing my voice has no weight, I've tweeted at OU Athletics multiple times since it occurred. The video just reinforced my belief that he should not be in the school.

I had no clue this ever happened.

No problem if you've been in that camp from the beginning. What I hate are the ones who jump on that bandwagon once seeing a video of the occurrence. Now, that said I'll ask you this...do you think Mixon should never play again? Or should he be allowed a second chance? If you believe he should allowed a second chance, then isn't that what OU did?

If I ran OU I would say another school gets to determine if he received a 2nd chance.

That's how I lean as well. Tough to keep this guy walking around the same campus as the girl whose face he broke.

I should amend my post by saying "I hope I would..."

Yes, Ray Rice was already at the tail end of his career.

Same, I first heard about this when the video came out. Even without the video how is he still on the team? He broke her jaw, what did they think the video would show?
