Well, I think the fastest Garrard player rans a "2-day forty" so tonight wasn't the best measuring stick! I don't mean to cause an uproar or argument. Trust me, they can run. They are excellent backs. And at the Class 2A level in Kentucky high school football, the difference between 4.3 and 4.6 really doesn't matter. They're faster than most everyone else.

 

I was just curious, when I see ridiculous stats I am going to question them. Good luck to Mercer, should be a good game next week against Boyle.

But again, if they don't have that 'killer instinct' late in the season. They might find themselves back home in ol' Fort Harrod a little early;)

Give me a break. Craig Yeast wasn't a 4.29 and even if he was I'm pretty sure being from Hburg doesn't give you some geographically induced speed genetics!!!

Like they say...offense wins games but DEFENSE wins championships. Mercer has allowed 6 points in 3 games. I don't care who you're playing...that is impressive.

When you have 3 running backs who run 4.3,4.35,and 4.39 you just need a hole of some sort. They have blocked well up until tonight. This is an entirely new offensive and defensive line Mercer has this season. I think they may have seen that #1 ranking this week and thought Garrard would roll over. They didn't and Mercer didn't respond well to that.

 

 

Easy on the hypnotic their friend. I'm sure those kids are fast, but I'd bet all my worldy possessions none of them run a 4.3 40. I haven't seen them at all or I'd bet they don't run 4.4 40s.

Morgan can throw the ball pretty well. He needs more game reps I believe. I believe he hasn't gotten those due to our rushing attack. But, the guy who I have liked since day 1 is the Qb out there on the last drive of the game for Mercer. #7 Trevor Short is a sophomore. He can wing it and he has great wheels. He is the future.

Morgan is 13-2 as a starter. End of story. If Mercer EVER has to resort to throwing the ball, we are in good hands. Those of us who were here last year can attest to that.
