Thanks slick.

I saw Alter last year and knew Beechwood was in for one heck of a game again this year. Either way, I think this game will help the Tigers down the road.

The key point is--they play a different type of football in Ohio (I am still learning how different Ohio really is). It is more about field position and shortening the game. In Ky--we are in a phase where everyone is trying to score a bunch of points. Alter could care less about that philosphy. They know that every game that they play is going to be close--and that their defense is what pays the bills.

You must not have seen a Dudley Hilton coached team play...

I am thinking that is a joke . . . . . . and yes--I did laugh!

Dudley Hilton would have to have all the fire hoses in KY -- plus schedule a few games on catholic holidays to play defense/field position like Alter.

Good question . . .

A couple points:

1. Alter runs 95% of the time.

2. Beechwood is very solid against the run

3. Offense for Alter . . . . . okay. But--they don't care about offense all that much.

4. Alter kills their selves with offensive penalties

5. Alter wins with field position (great kicker/punter), then defense makes you lose yards on every play. (They have given up 3 points all year).

6. Wishbone 90% of time . . . . with 2 GREAT backs.

In all fairness, Beechwood roughed them up offensively (with their defense). But I am not real sure that anyone has given Beechwood enough credit defensively either (especially against the run). I think Beechwood had about 20 yards total offense--and that is the most that anyone has gotten against them this year.

Alter wants to grind you down and make you tired, get field position--then play with a short field. They don't care if they win 3-0 or 33-0. Defense is what they care about. And if they don't score on offense--they will on defense.

Sounds like a team I could cheer for.
