November 16, 20169 yr Obama ran a campaign, both times, promising things he couldn't and didn't deliver. Didn't seem to bother his supporters all that much until this year. Then they said enough is enough. You and others can continue to ignore the fact that he used racism as part of his plan to get elected if that makes you feel better. We won't.
November 16, 20169 yr Author Talk of reaching out to those that he alienated during the election, I agree that he not only could but that he should do that. What are 4 or 5 points that Trump could address that would start to bridge the gap with those that feel alienated by the campaign? Him simply not being a hateful and inciteful man with tunnel vision is a start for me. Having had the opportunity to have held an elected position one thing you cannot account for is the unknown. It's easy to talk a big game about what you will do but one you get behind closed doors you learn quickly that things aren't at all how you think. How he adapts on the fly and the decisions he has to make is what can win me over.
November 16, 20169 yr I think so and I think that is good for America. Agreed, I know I'd tick off both sides from time to time.
November 16, 20169 yr Author You and others can continue to ignore the fact that he used racism as part of his plan to get elected if that makes you feel better. We won't. Sure won't!!!!
November 16, 20169 yr You and others can continue to ignore the fact that he used racism as part of his plan to get elected if that makes you feel better. We won't. To be clear, when people speak of Trump's Racism are they talking about it as directed toward blacks or directed towards Hispanics and others.
November 16, 20169 yr To be clear, when people speak of Trump's Racism are they talking about it as directed toward blacks or directed towards Hispanics and others. As I've said before, in general. During the campaign, it was directed mostly and Hispanics and Muslims.
November 16, 20169 yr I'm confused. So you don't want to see Trump win over the people he chose to alienate during his campaign? Better yet, why didn't he say all of this during his campaign? He could have done so much better and won over way more people by applying reason and logic to his campaign instead of hatred. I mean seriously, the core things we heard from Trump supporters all year long was build the wall, imprison Hillary, drain the swamp and now we are looking at some fencing, Hillary will be free because her and Bill are good people and he doesn't want to hurt them and the swamp will never be drained. The vitriol during the campaign was deafening. Now silence is all we hear. This is where we are in 2016 when a man wins the presidential election using hateful and dividing rhetoric as his only means of winning the election. For a man who is now claiming to want to unite the country he could have united the country a long time ago had he used the words and temperament he has seemed to have found after being elected. He won the election because he reached out to voters long forgotten by both parties. Not because of hateful and divisive rhetoric. That dog don't hunt. Your party dropped the ball. The POTUS you love said so yesterday. I want him to carry through on deporting illegals that are criminals. I want him to secure the border. I want him to stringently vet refugees from ISIS areas. I want him to get rid of job killing agreements. I want him to revise the tax code. Yeah, all of that sounds real hateful and divisive.
November 16, 20169 yr You and others can continue to ignore the fact that he used racism as part of his plan to get elected if that makes you feel better. We won't. Is everything about racism?
November 16, 20169 yr As I've said before, in general. During the campaign, it was directed mostly and Hispanics and Muslims. Thanks
November 16, 20169 yr Is everything about racism? Nope. But I choose not to ignore it when I see it, unlike the majority of people here.
November 16, 20169 yr Nope. But I choose not to ignore it when I see it, unlike the majority of people here. I don't ignore it. I just don't see it around every corner. Its not racist to deport illegals. BTW Muslim isn't a race.
November 16, 20169 yr I don't ignore it. I just don't see it around every corner. Its not racist to deport illegals. BTW Muslim isn't a race. We don't see it around every corner either. We just call it out EVERY time we see it. If you don't see it as often, we jsut have different definitions of it (which is obviously the case). Never said it was illegal to deport illegals, and I've said before I'm 100% in favor of immigration reform.

So basically the only way you'll admit that Trump's campaign was fueled by hateful racist rhetoric is if he gets exposed with a Donald Sterling style recording. Duly noted.
November 16, 20169 yr Author I don't ignore it. I just don't see it around every corner. Its not racist to deport illegals. BTW Muslim isn't a race. We know. Obama has deported more illegals than any POTUS ever.
