Why couldn't our leaders do that when Obamacare was unveiled?

Maybe because Obama made it clear that he won and Republicans lost and that "elections have consequences." Obama shut the door on any compromises that would have made it difficult for Republicans to say no. His arrogance helped sweep Trump into power. I hope Trump whines at least half as much about Obama that Obama whined about Bush.

An example of normalizing racism is when a majority of people can see racism right in front of them but there is no rush to rid ourselves of the racism. It is happening by whites and blacks these days. Stephen Brannon is a perfect example and I don't need biased media to let me know that fact and I am surprised more people don't see it.

 

If BGP published questionable articles about race and allowed its members to openly engage in blatant racism and openly express their support for white supremacy would you think that BGP at the very least supports the cause and message of white supremacy?

Likely because of the way it was passed. There was no give and take when the Bill was drafted. It was pushed through by Reconciliation in the dead of night before any member even had an opportunity to read it.

I will happily admit that Obama abused his power to get ObamaCare through but what other choice did he have when no one who opposed it was willing to compromise? To act like the republicans were willing to compromise on Obamacare doesn't make sense to me when they made it plainly clear that they were opposed to free healthcare from day one. There was never any true compromise so for me I blame Obama and congress for not working together to get it right the first time. I'll give Team Trump credit for fixing it when they do but the fact of the matter is that there was zero cooperation from congress during Obama's tenure and it should have been fixed the first time.

A leader would have forged a compromise by reaching out. Obama wanted what he wanted and was willing to do the unorthodox to push it through. He and congressional Democrats had no interest in compromise as they believed they had a mandate and a free reign to push their agenda. They did. Now it will be undone, but likely with compromise

In this country, liberal Democrats reach deep into the pockets of working men and women, take their cash, then hold them up by the ankles and shake loose any change that they have left. The "proceeds" are then used to buy the support of those trapped in the culture of dependency that liberals have been working to create for more than a century. Any shortfall will be paid by today's children and the children who have not yet been born.

 

Woodrow Wilson and FDR would be proud to see so many people still touting "free" federal programs in this country, as if the bill for those goods and services will never come due.

Not even in the slightest. I was happy after the loss. Duke loses to Kansas by 2 on a shot with 1.8 seconds left in the game. Meanwhile their 3 best players didn't even dress for the game. Grumpy? Hell nah. Elated is more like it!!!!!

I just watched a clip of Carl Higbie on Fox News being interviewed by Megyn Kelly and in the clip he said that the Japanese Interment camps set the precedent to do something similar with Muslims. He said we did it with Iran also.
