It was a good season for Conner but top level 6A teams are too much for them to handle.

Congrats Scott County. Got pass defense?

How many rushing yards and total yards did the Cards end up with?

Lexington/ Central Kentucky high schools beating North Kentucky teams in 6A almost unheard of. Congrats on the upset

Scott Co beating Conner surely wasn't an upset.

This wasn't an upset, Conner winning would have been much bigger of one. I do think that Ryle has a good chance of beating them next week.

Cards clobber Cougars, 46-19, for second playoff win

By Kal Oakes Georgetown News-Graphic

Explosive on offense, nasty on defense, efficient on special teams, the Scott County High School football team showed itself fit for a Class 6A state title run Friday night.

SC thoroughly dominated Conner, 46-19, in a second-round showdown at Toyota Stadium behind Brice Fryman's four touchdowns.

Fryman rushed for 132 yards. His 53-yard return of the opening kickoff set up a score by Jacob Burton. He also had two would-be touchdowns wiped out by late flags.

Josh Davis ran for a 23-yard TD and threw another to Landon Easley, who made an acrobatic grab in the corner of the end zone.

Scott County's defense had four sacks of Conner's Walker Buelow, who completed 13 of 22 passes for 205 yards, including TDs of 37 and 71 yards to Brian Manning.

The Cardinals (10-2) will host Ryle (12-0) at 7:30 p.m. next Friday in the state quarterfinals. It is SC's sixth trip to the third round in the past seven seasons.

Armand Jackson rushed 21 times for 118 yards to lead Conner, which actually out-gained Scott County by a 340 to 328 margin.

Short fields were good to SC all night, however. The Cardinals scored on all five of their first-half possessions and built a 32-6 halftime lead.

By definition, Conner is a 5A school, correct? They, along with Cooper, chose to play up, right? It does become a bridge too far when playing high level 6A competition.

It hasn't been "unheard of" for Scott Co in years.

As the others said this is anything but an upset. Scott County was the clear favorite going into the game.

Yes, Conner and Cooper voluntarily requested to play up from 5A to 6A and as we can all see Conner and Cooper have no chance in 6A.

Even after this loss Conner is #9 in the Litkenhous 6A ratings.

Dave and his staff should be congratulated. Has to replace the focal point of the offense with a first-year QB.

Congrats to the Cougars.
