No it will be played at Paul Dunbar.

IMO it will be a defensive battle between the two...

I agree. A defensive battle.

Many people are predicting a lot of points in this one. I just can't see Dunbar scoring a lot of points with their inept passing attack.

Teams ought to play nine in the box against them. They are 10-28 for less than 200 yards passing in three games. Also, 3.3 yards per carry rushing.

Not mean to say anything bad but Ryle's main set is Power I. They are by no means a passing team either. For local people they look a lot like Tates Creek.

They are a VERY GOOD running football team and it will be tough to beat them.

A close game if Dunbar takes care of the football.

That has been a problem. Hopefully, they take care of it and beat a good Ryle team. They need some momentum heading into next week's District opener vs. Woodford Co.

We want them to have no momentum going into Woodford. I hope the Ryle players are expecting to play an angry team with something to prove. Could be a good game.

I finally got a chance to see some film on both teams. if you went by stats and looks alone. I would go with Ryle, especially with a limited J.Green from Dunbar. Everyone knows you can't do that however. Dunbar is very good upfront especially on offense, while they have too many turnovers, the potential is there for them to win this game. That being said, if Ryle can come out and execute their offense properly, i believe they will come out on top. the game being at home for PLD, will keep the score extremely tight, especially with PLD "hugging" the ground on O right now.

IMO Ryle wins 21-17.

Ryle looks like they have come out swinging. I like thier chances to pull out a 2-1 record after this one. Should be a good test for both. Keep it up Raiders!

What are your impressions of Dunbar's run defense?

I'm a bit worried about a letdown after the large buildup and win last week vs. NCC. Ryle's defense is much better suited for stopping the pass rather than the run, IMO. Could be a low scoring affair with a field goal or PAT deciding the outcome. Speaking of that, what the heck is going on with Uminger? Anyone know why they missed 3 or 4 PAT's last week?

Look for the Raiders to trail early, and rally back for a close win.

Ryle 13-10. And good luck to young Mr. Joe Holtzapfel and the rest of the Raider Nation.

Dunbar's run defense is pretty good. It will be a battle with Ryle's O Line, which is pretty good. Murray and Gray could be the best backfield tandem Dunbar will play this season. Aggressive and they run very hard. Should be a great game.

On Ross Uminger kicking, he did not miss 3 - 4 extra points. He was 2 of 3 by stats but the one miss was a hold in the rain problem. The hold was dropped on the first XP, It got barely re-teed late, he had to kick "at it " already out of step, still just barely missed . Next TD had no kick, they went for two and were stopped.

Next TD had a personal foul after the TD, assessed on the XP, so he made a 35 yard XP in the rain no problem. The next TD was a normal good XP. The last TD, an NCC player broke through the middle and blocked it.

So not to worry, his kicking is fine.

I'm not gonna lie Dunba'r run defense is as good as anyone if you line up and run right at them. Even MBA could not line up and try to run over them. Madison Central had some success but that was more because of their speed getting the corner and some costly turnovers by Dunbar.

That's the story of the year so far for Dunbar. Injuries and Turnovers. If Dunbar can hold on to the football and even just punt and make Ryle work for the offense they get instead of just handing out free points like they did against PRP, Dunbar is a tough team to beat, but if they fumble the ball they can be beat by anyone.

Ryle will win this one in a very close one. Dunbar running back will have lots of yards though...

I wonder what Gray will have to say about all of those yards. Perhaps "anything you can do I can do better"......

As I previously posted, the running back in question is Jerrell Greene, a 6-1 195lb. Soph. Tailback. He sprained his knee in Dunbar's 2nd scrimmage and returned last week against PRP, playing three snaps on O and 6 snaps on D. He has not carried the ball yet this year and probably won't against Ryle. The reason being is the Coaching Staff is wanting to get him as close to 100% as possible for all of their District games, which begin next week against Woodford Co. Also, FB Corey Williams will not be availabe until the Tates Creek or Lafayette game as they scoped his knee two weeks ago and removed a 4 inch Calcium Deposit which had formed from last years surgery on his ACL.
