Thoughts?

I have none. What are the records for both teams this year? Who are the top players for both schools? Who holds the series edge right now?

As 7th graders Ashland won @ Russell

As 8th graders Russell won @ Ashland

Should be a good game then.

Not sure of record, but Ashland freshman beat Spring Valley last night. Spring Valley usually has good teams. Andy Lane is extremely fast and has good vision out of the back field. He scored last Friday during the East Carter game. Justin Bradley is the qb. He struggles with his accuracy, but does make good decisions. I don't know if we will see John Stone (lineman), Blake Hester or Bryce Carly (both running backs) during this game. Stone started a couple of games at center for the Cats while TJ Love was injured. Both Hester and Carly have started almost the entire season in the defensive backfield on varsity, but have carried the ball very little, if any at all on varsity. Should be a good matchup. Always a good atmosphere.

As for teams both schools have played....Ashland lost to Raceland and Russell beat Raceland

Russell comes in at 2-2-1. They have victories over Greenup and Raceland, losses to Greenup and Wheelersburg, and tied with Ironton.

Hopefully, we get a competitive game. The last four have been routs.

Only 5 games? Have they had some cancellations?

I think Boyd County cancelled their game with Russell this year. Not sure of any others.

The 65th annual Kiwanis Bowl (Russell-Ashland freshmen) has been moved from Thursday to Monday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m.(potential weather issues)

Ugh, kids can't play football on wet fields anymore? I had plans to go to this one tonight, but I seriously doubt I will be able to attend Monday. It rained a little earlier, may rain a little later tonight, not sure what the problem with that was though?

The Kiwanis Bowl has been played in the rain before, I say let them play.

The only rain we've even had was a short shower about 2-3 hours ago. :idunno:

I would say Ashland didn't want their field torn up with potentially three home games remaining.
