Oldercoach Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 Sorry, bailed at half with Beechwood leading 42-0. Ipad lost connectivity. BW in total control. Candidly, this is not the same Ludlow Panther team I saw fight the Brossart Mustangs tooth and nail for three qtrs. Either BW had an exceptional night or Ludlow went on fall break a little early. Blackburn played but credit is due to the BW swarming defense for keeping him in check. Solid effort tonight with a young BW team that is building momentum at the right time.
Voice of Reason Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 Beechwood was very good tonight. I did not expect the Tigers to be that dominant. It was 42-0 running clock in the first quarter. Ludlow threw the ball a lot more than I expected. Blackburn did not get very many carries. When he did get the ball though, Beechwood was all over him. Here are the scoring plays: Q1 Opening kickoff ... James Davis 75 yard return for TD; Daniel Mescher XP ... 7-0 8:31 ... Aiden Justice 13 yard TD run; Mescher XP ...14-0 6:59 ... Justice 20 yard TD run; Mescher XP ... 21-0 5:10 ... Brayden Burch to Garrett Ratliff 10 yards; Mescher XP ... 28-0 2:37 ... Burch to John Odom 5 yards: Mescher XP ... 35-0 0:09 ... Davis 12 yard TD run; Mescher XP ... 42-0 Q3 1:20 ... Odom 42 yard TD run; 2 pt try no good ... 48-0 Q4 5:20 ... Ludlow's Mathew Reusch 10 yard TD run; 2 pt try no good ... 48-6
LCDAWGS19 Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 Final. I said Beechies by 40 before the game...I was close.
LVGambla32 Posted October 14, 2016 Author Posted October 14, 2016 I said Beechies by 40 before the game...I was close. Could have been MUCH worse.
Voice of Reason Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 Keep it going Tigers. Need to get sharp for that New Cath game in two weeks!
charlesw88 Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 No, it wasn't. Maybe you failed to see the sarcasm. Clearly it was not.
oldoc Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 Playing Beechwood and playing Brossart are two totally different animals. Beechwood is in a completely different league than both of those teams. 1A fball won't be exciting until the semis...imo. After the Top 5, the other schools cannot hang with the top Sorry, bailed at half with Beechwood leading 42-0. Ipad lost connectivity. BW in total control. Here's hoping the Tigers can stay healthy the rest of the way. Most 1A teams are not deep enough to absorb a key loss. My observation is that this BW Tiger team may not have the mega-star (i.e. Fiedler, Slusher, or a Stringer), but they sure have good depth at the skill positions and may be better able to absorb a late season injury or two.

I wouldn't say Stringer injury derailed the championship run. It was a huge loss, like any loss of an important starter, but outside of the holy cross game, BW seemed to keep playing their type of ball last year, pikeville just turned out to be very impressive. But yes injuries are huge to any team, hopefully all are healthy for all teams so we all get our money's worth at games
