October 12, 20169 yr Sounds like I need to start selling beer with you... In all seriousness, this happens just as much to men as it does to women. The difference is most women will speak up when it bothers them, most men won't. Why that is would vary from person to person I think. Genetically we are programmed to hump anything that moves, so naturally most men aren't going to mind being groped. Not in any universe I have ever lived in. It happens to men but not nearly as much. Maybe I need to hang out at a few bars.

October 12, 20169 yr There are so many facets to sexual advances, sexual aggression and sexual harrassment. Sooooo many layers. In the simplest explanation, it all comes down to the person who is the target, whether a victim or a willing participant, what some things actually are. I know women would would be flattered to be paid that kind of attention, and or be talked about in a "lockerroom" way. I don't fathom it at all, but there is no denying some do. There are men who love the same. Again...D I don't get it, but they are out there. Ant such behavior by either sex, toward either sex, that is unwelcomed is harrassment, and (IMO) inexcusable. In addition, I (being of the less-than-huggy type), find the thought of someone I don't know touching me in ANY way abhorrant let alone in a sexually harrassing way. And when I say abhorrant, I mean I will punch you... I liken what you guys are describing to be exactly the same as when it happens to a female and it is not acceptable. I do also think, though, that from a broader perspective, there is a cultural difference, and Habib's thoughts are spot on. Maybe I'm a prude. I don't know. All I do know is that I feel all people, regardless of gender, religion, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, political affilliation or socioeconomic status...ALL people should treat others with dignity and respect, and should be treated that way themselves. And it's bad enough when a random stranger objectifies you, its a whole 'nother ball game when one's job is threatened.
