Will be fun to watch Simon Kenton this year. Those young women can play ball.

If I were the coach, I’d end every practice from now until March shooting free throws with music blaring, air horns, cowbells and players yelling.

Here’s how the last four seasons have ended, with team record heading into that game:

• ‘15-16 – (24-5, regional championship) 62-54 loss to Trimble Co. --- 5 of 16 from foul line.

• ‘14-15 – (27-4, 1st round in state) 52-43 loss to Graves Co. ---- 7 of 22 from foul line.

• ‘13-14 – (29-3, regional championship) 49-38 loss to Anderson Co. ---- 6 of 14 from foul line.

• ‘12-13 – (28-5, regional championship) 70-68 OT loss to Anderson Co. ---- 10 of 19 from foul line.

Get over that mental hump, and they'll be that much tougher to handle.

Unfortunately, Walton is going to struggle mightily this year since Ison graduated.

Simon Kenton has to have a focused year. They can make a lot noise at the state touramemt this year, the talent and depth are there. The free throw struggles and lack of passion in big games has hurt, this team should be driven with big goals this year. As stated, they will be fun to watch!

I think Grant will surprise some people this season in the 32nd.. I'm picking them 2nd..

I had to pause and look at last season's thread after reading this one. 15-16 will be a season I won't soon forget. Dreams start to become reality on Saturday. Good luck to all.

Is Oldham County not in the 8th region any more?

They are and should be much improved.

They are and should be much improved.

Not in top 10?

No. Do you think that they should be?

Early talk had Trimble and Oldham fighting for the 29th this season. We will see how that plays out. Maybe South will make it a three horse race. Always fun to speculate.

I do think they should be ahead of a team that is in their district and is on the list.

I also think Grant will surprise some teams. I think they will be included on this top 10 list by the end of the season. Lindsey Kinard and Abby West will make a strong inside-outside duo.

I'm not going to go that far as far as top 10 is concerned. I agree with your statements about Kinard and West. I expect Ezel to step her game up this season, and the little guard Homer keeps improving. The keys for them I feel is what they get out of their other forward Shelby Gutman(not sure of spelling). She looked very good at times in AAU ball this past summer and plays hard. The other unanswered question is how Ruebush comes back from her knee injury. If all these things have a positive outcome they will make some noise in the 32nd. Good luck to coach West and the Lady Braves.
