October 11, 20169 yr The 749 CG record put in perspective... Most starters make 35 starts a year. In order to tie that mark a guy would need to pitch 21.5 years without missing a start and pitch a CG in every single game. Never going to happen.

I agree that will never be approached, current pitchers will be worshiped if they threw 10 in a season...this year Cueto led MLB with 5.

Rickey stole 0.456 bases per game played. Like you said it's highly unlikely simply because the chances of Hamilton playing as long as Ricky is slim.

Ricky was good, could hit, stayed relatively healthy and had a long career. If Billy could match that longevity and health, he could give it a run. Of course that number for Ricky is a career number that takes into account after he slowed down. What rate was he stealing bases at the same point in his career as Billy.

I do think Hamilton could make a legitimate run at 1,000 SBs if he can stick around though.
