Paintsville takes the number one spot and has the week off before the likely District Championship game versus #3 Raceland. What do we expect from the this district? What will we learn from the Pikeville/Valley matchup? Raceland defeated Valley in convincing fashion earlier in the season. Do we expect any movement after this week? Who could move up? Who could move down?

I'd move Williamsburg up to 7 and everyone else down a spot. Burg and Hazard are about equal in my opinion.

That may be true but Williamsburg doesn't have any wins that help make that argument. Beating Frankfort helped a little. But all the teams in front of Williamsburg have better wins that Williamsburg.

The blowout win by KCD Friday is a sparkling example of the confusing kind of club they've been this year, but certainly encouraging for Bearcat faithful.

 

Holy Cross's wins over Western and Providence, In, both looked pretty impressive. They rated a 10 point or better favorite over KCD in Massey and Cal Preps. They were even-steven in Lit Ratings. I sense they are a much better team than they showed Friday. The came can be said for KCD in their two losses to LCA and Adair Co.

 

And let's not forget Frankfort lurking in the weeds for both the above clubs before district play ends. They hung with Williamsburg and solid Estill Co earlier in the season. The Panthers get Holy Cross at home Friday.

I figured Bishop Brossart would get a nod in the top 10.

I am surprised no one has questioned Paintsville moving to #1. Does everyone agree with that, even though Russellville is undefeated? I can see good argument on both sides.

Nobody can disagree with the move. Nobody knows how good Russellville is. We will find out the last week of the season.

Paintsville has an excellent team. Russellville has one as well. Russellville toughest game so far was Butler Co who is a solid 2A team with one hell of a offense. They will not get challenged until the last game against Franklin Simpson... They need to keep it respectable to be considered the best team in class A.

How do the playoffs work this year? Would Russellville have to travel to Beechwood if both make it to the semi finals this year? Beechwood had to go to Russellville last year.

Beechwood will not go anywhere. They get 4 home games.

I don't know if there is a team in 1A that could keep it respectable vs Franklin Simpson. They are the real deal this year.

I agree, it would be a very tall order for anyone in 1A to beat them. If Russellville did beat them or made the game interesting, I'd say they are #1 without question.
