With that said, if we're talking "most iconic" I lean towards USC. They are stacked at the top of the list. OJ Charles White Marcus Allen Lendale White Anthony Davis (if you don't know Rozier you definitely won't know this guy) Reggie Bush Ricky Bell Mike Garrett Maybe it's a case of "blondes vs brunettes" but I'll take USC if you make me pick.

October 5, 20169 yr There are certainly some schools that have GREAT history at the RB position USC (Marcus Allen, OJ, Reggie Bush) Ohio State (Archie Griffin, Eddie George, Zeke Elliott) and Alabama recently (Ingram, Richardson, Henry). But I don't think any school had the sustained success at the RB position that Nebraska had. I'll be honest I didn't know very many guys on that list of Nebraska RB's, but unlike some people I actually researched the topic before posting on here and the list of all time great RB's is littered with former Nebraska players. Actually USC would be Number 1 All Time IMO. Mike Garrett, OJ Simpson, Anthony Davis, Ricky Bell, Charles White, Marcus Allen, Reggie Bush. You have five Heisman winners in that list and I left off a decent TB in Clarence Davis.

I think it is certainly debatable though and there definitely are not 5 schools with a better running back tradition than Nebraska which was really what I was trying to get at.
October 5, 20169 yr Frazier was so good, you didn't want to face that guy. I was surprised to see his rushing numbers pale in comparison to the one large season Frost had. Eric Crouch's rushing numbers are crazy, three time 1K.

October 5, 20169 yr I'm not the least bit shocked that someone hasn't heard of 5, 6, and 7, and Raja Craig (way he pronounced his name) was a good college back, but a GREAT NFL back, but I would have lost a TON of money that any member of this board hadn't heard of Mike Rozier. He, Earl Campbell, and Billy Sims made the tear-away jerseys en vogue -- beasts them all. The best 3 Notre Dame running backs since 1950 were Ricky Watters, Jerome Bettis, and Allen Pinkett...don't come at me with that.
