PurpleHaze Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 BG 21 Central 14 I think this will be a great game. I hope that some of the hurt players can come back and get their first game under thier belt!
Blockbuster Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Central has too much speed for the grapes. WC 28 BG 17
Thor Posted August 29, 2006 Author Posted August 29, 2006 i'm gonna take Central in a close one WC- 12 BG- 7 looking forward to watching a good game and that it should be.
nikeman Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 Central will take the lead and never look back, 28-7
Chicks dig Scars Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 Bowling Green has played 4A St X (2-0) and 4A Christian Co (0-1) and faced 2legitimate Mr.Football candidates in Vic Anderson and Keith Tandy. Warren Central has defeated 3A Franklin-Simpson (0-2) and 3A Paducah Tilghman (0-2). If strength of schedule means anything, the Purples hold the upper hand. It is a rivalry game and its at Warren Central, but I'll take the Purples 24-14.
westsider Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 Bowling Green has scored a grand total of 14 points in eight regulation quarters. Are they capable of putting up 21-24 points against Warren Central? I'm expecting a close, low-scoring game like last year's game.
Oxnard Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 Will Hibbitt be ready to go in this game? His pressence will make a big difference in Bowling Green's offensive output. What is Stellman's status? If he were also in this game, they would finally have a passing offense with a good 6-6 receiver on the other end. To me this game hinges on who plays and who doesn't play for the Purples. If both Hibbitt and Stellman are out, then Warren Central prevails by about 7. If Hibbitt is back, then give it to Bowling Green by 3. If both Hibbitt and Stellman are back, give it to Bowling Green by 17.

PurpleHaze Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 I think you hit the nail on the head, Ox! The Backyard Brawl will be decided by who can play for BGHS and who can't. Without Hibbitt or Steelman, it will be a real tough row to hoe. The Purples were outgained by Christian Co last week yet found a way to win (VERY proud of that!!). Also, the Dragons' offense hasn't seen anything like our defense yet this year. Those two items will keep it close, but paint this one Navy Blue if both Hibbitt and Steelman are out. Paint it Purple if they're in...even if they're not at 100%, their presence will mean so much to the rest of the guys! Best of luck to both sides this Friday at Joe Hood Field!
just 4 fun Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 The Purples hold the advantage in schedule strength, but, injuries could hurt them..Warren Central has played a lesser schedule, although Tilghman and F.Simpson are by no means patsys, but, are relatively healthy..I like Central in this one by 7..
