GoBigRed Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Wow, anybody got a rundown of this game, sounds like Calloway County could make a little noise in 3A this year.
cardinalsvoice Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Calloway has a couple of nice players...Graves should have won by more...but as like the week before...Graves goes to sleep for a few series and that will get them beat if they do that the next couple of weeks playing a Tilghman team that will be ready to take out their frustrations on the Eagles and against Mayfield in a couple of weeks. Calloway should be able to get the #4 playoff spot if they stay healthy...and they could be really dangersous next year.
GoBigRed Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 Interesting stat about this game, Graves only threw for 16 total yards passing, the whole game was about the run. Was calloway's passing defense that good? I know I watched Graves in their scrimmages and they looked pretty good in the passing game to me. Another big stat that stands out to me is the yards they allowed Calloway to accumulate. 161 rushing yards and 191 passing yards, the two teams were just 6 yards apart in total yardage. That doesn't bode well for Graves against opponents that have traditionally good offense, like Paducah Tilghman coming up.

They were successful running the ball all night. In the second half, especially, the Lakers' only moved the ball with Seay (the QB) on the move, either taking the ball outside or rolling out and throwing it.
gchs_uk9 Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 At this point, I'm thinking the Lakers will finish third in their district. So they are ahead of Madisonville, Hopkins Central and Union County? That's good to see. Its been a few years since Calloway was a player in Class AAA.
cardinalsvoice Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 The game with Union County should decide the final two playoff berths in Class AAA...for the Lakers they get a break and don't have to make the long trip to Union County for that district game. If Foster is healthy for Union County it could be an interesting game between those two in a few weeks.
