Nice win for Ballard.

Some might think surprising.

 

But DeSales not as strong as they have been and Ballard is a little better than they have been in recent years.

Offense regressed this week and defense looked good expect for two broken plays that were game breaking touchdowns. Desales will bounce back but only if some offensive changes are made.

Congrats to Ballard. They were the better team tonight. I would be curious to see the number of plays run - probably two-to-one in Ballard's favor. No offense at all for the DeSales. For the second year in a row (at Fern Creek last year), it was interesting to watch the players and fans of a MUCH bigger school celebrate like they just won the Super Bowl after beating the Colts.

But I got to watch the film of this game and while DeSales looks to be missing a few of the difference-makers of last year, BALLARD's defense was SOLID.

 

Coach Copley is a defense-mentality head coach & all he did was go out & get one of the best young defensive-minded assistants out there (Adrien Morton--formerly of Manual) as coordinator.

 

The Defense played well vs Male (2 of their TD's were defensive) too.

 

Once the Qb gets a little more experience, the offense will get clicking too (had an unknown emerge at RB last night after an injury to the original starter).

 

Will be tough for anybody to compete w/ T this year, but outside that, Ballard can beat all the teams left on its schedule.

Changes need to be made on the offensive side of the ball. I dont think we are playing our best athlete at QB.

Agree 100%. Ballard's defense was dominant. Some of that is DeSales' lack of cohesion right now on that side of the ball, but the Bruins are fast and big. And that crowd...WOW! That's the loudest opposing crowd I've heard in the four years I have been going to Colts games. They were rocking the place!

DeSales will be a contender by the end of the season. They have an inexperienced QB, and several talented and athletic first-time starters on both sides of the ball. On top of that, they have been without a starting RB from last season. Once he gets back and the rest of the youngsters gain some experience, I feel confident that the Colts will be right there in the thick of it come November.
