September 1, 201610 yr That's what I thought. So, I guess we are " awfuler."[/size]. Whee have you been all season? This shouldn't be news lol.
September 1, 201610 yr Finnegan with another impressive start. The changeup seems to have made a huge difference with Brandon. If he keeps pitching like he has his last few outings he's gotta be a lock for the rotation next year.

September 1, 201610 yr What's the story on why he wasn't using it before? Today's paper said that Dan Straily showed him a new grip. He used the pitch to record 5 of his strikeouts last night.

Correct. He was using a different grip, and the ball was cutting too much. He was very pitch efficient last night, and still had 9 K's.
September 1, 201610 yr I know the seamheads like a stat on swing and miss % for pitchers. (Papelbon's % was ridiculously high early in the season even when his other stats were not that bad.) Finnegan's last few starts have to have helped out tremendously on that stat as it seems like he gets a ton of swinging Ks rather than of the backward variety. When will they shut him down? Other thread suggests he is way over his prior season high in innings (but maybe that is injury related in other seasons?).

He is already wayyyy over last years total. I believe close to 60 more IP.
September 1, 201610 yr Whee have you been all season? This shouldn't be news lol. I thought we might take one or two from the Angels, considering the second half hasn't been that terrible . Maybe they've tossed in the towel.
