I think they should have waited it out and finished the game. I know Franklin wouldn't have gotten home until 1 or 2 am, but what are they doing on Saturday anyway. Easy for me to say I realize, but also seems pretty easy to just pack your bags and go home at the first sign of lightning as well. I know the Mayfield and Barren County games didn't get over until well after midnight. Doesn't matter now. But a real shame when 2 terrific teams meet up and it ends like this. I know it costs money to hold over, but it also costs money to get the teams there and play the full game in the first place.

 

I think the arrival back in Franklin would have been closer to the 3:30-4:00AM time. No way anyone is home by 1:00AM starting that game back at 11:30. The drive alone is an hour and a half. Also, at the time the game was called that storm looked to be expanding on radar.

MAC, I admit I wrote that in a very frustrated state. Maybe it wasn't feasible to wait it out. Just seems hard to take when you have 2 really good teams playing that might not play again for some time.

I don't know what the FS schedule is going to look like the next two years. Portland refused to sign the contract, maybe Caldwell is off, expect Metcalfe will be gone.

 

ACS, East, Central(?), for district. Russellville for sure. South and Greenwood likely. Monroe probable.

 

Who knows what re-alignment brings. Surely not Breckenridge back.

Hadn't really thought about that, but when South moves to 5A does your district just stay the same without them or add someone? Will be interesting.

Another year we had them scheduled for Homecoming and they tried to forfeit. When that failed they wanted to make it a JV game. When the score got out of hand FS put in the JV team. Problem was, Courtney Dalcourt was the QB of the JV team and he scored three TDs.

Caldwell has already added Graves County and Hopkinsville for 2017 and 2018 to replace Franklin-Simpson and North Hardin.

 

I was told Franklin's coach said he wanted to play someone closer to home. It is a 2-hour trip on a bus from Franklin to Princeton, so that's a valid concern.

 

I like the Franklin game, but Graves and Hoptown are a lot more manageable travel-wise for Caldwell. And both are still larger schools, so the Caldwell schedule doesn't really take a hit.
