August 22, 201610 yr Boys are taking their love for the Note Dame green a little to far. God knows you need a gun on the mean streets full of smart rich kids.
August 22, 201610 yr Redfield has been booted. Butler has been suspended indefinitely. Redfield was sent home from the bowl game in January.
August 22, 201610 yr .....so you have been to one of Oregon's practices ? Look, it's Notre Dame, and surely this will be the cause of them not winning another National Championship this year, right ? I think we see more of this, but honestly, outside of this region, not a lot of concern for ND football. I have no clue what goes on at Oregon practices. Really, I'm not condemning or defending anyone's actions here. I just think it's pretty interesting, honestly, that there are some college athletes who are perfectly within their legal rights to light up a joint due to the fact that they are attending a school in one of the states where recreational marijuana use currently is legal, whereas the majority of our college athletes are breaking laws and running the risk of dismissal from their programs if they do the same. Regardless of that discussion, it shows some pretty immense stupidity on the part of these Notre Dame players. There's no excuse for it, and they've made their own beds.

Curious what the NCAA rules, if any, exist for scholarship athletes, or any for that matter, on random pool drug testing. I'm not sure. Irrespective of that, are there schools that make random drug testing part of the condition of scholarship maintenance ?
August 23, 201610 yr Irrespective of that, are there schools that make random drug testing part of the condition of scholarship maintenance ? For sure, some private universities do that. Typically the first offense is a warning, the 2nd offense is a suspension, the 3rd offense is the boot. The failed tests are never made public nor reported. At a LOT of universities, public and private, when you see kids miss the first 2-3 games due to injuries or a concussion, just know that the young athlete in question very well may be dealing with a suspension.
