September 5, 201610 yr I did @coldweatherfan's hotdog, roast beef, bacon wraps. I made 20 before running out of roast beef. They all got devoured, so I still haven't had one. They were a huge hit. :thumb: I started wrapping the remainder of the dogs with bacon, though, and got a couple of those. One of the other members of the group brought some brats. We also sauteed some green peppers and onions, no picks of that, though.
September 5, 201610 yr Oh yeah, I forgot about the Green and Gold traditional drink before the game. Anybody for a Picklenack?
September 5, 201610 yr @coldweatherfan, I did use Boar's Head hotdogs, but i did not have my phone with me when I went to Publix, so I could not remember what kind. I ended up getting the pork and beef franks. They seemed to work out OK. :thumb: BTW, if you are down here next week, we're playing NIU. I'm going to try the pizza experiment.
September 5, 201610 yr Author We'll bein Champaign again, but we are gonna hook up at some point, that's for sure. That's getting done right there SR. I rocked my wing rack. Holds 42 whole wings. Tossed them in buffalo sauce after grilling. Great, easy way to feed a bunch of people while you work on the tougher stuff. I'm going with Cubans this week.

September 5, 201610 yr Are you going with bricks, or do you have a stone? I'm going to use my brother-in-law's stones. I'd have to go out and buy bricks.
September 6, 201610 yr I started experimenting with pizza last night. I baked a Chicago style pizza in a cast iron skillet on my home grill. It came out pretty good, though the bottom was scorched some. I used pizza dough from the Publix bakery. Tonight, I'm going to use one of the stones on one of my tailgate grills and see how that comes out.

It creates a slight air pocket between the stone and dough, helps crisp and helps keep from burning.
September 11, 201610 yr The grilled pizza tailgate was a big success. I ended up making 6 pizzas. 2 were Chicago style done in cast iron skillets and 4 were thin crust prepared on baking stones. The thin crust pizzas were as follows ... pepperoni cheese only pepperoni, sausage, & bacon veggie (peppers, onions, & mushrooms) The Chicago styles were pepperoni, sausage, & bacon pepperoni, sausage, bacon, peppers, onions, mushrooms

September 12, 201610 yr Looking good SR. We rolled on Cubans, wings, and poppers this week. (We smoked some cigars too) Looks fantastic. However ... Where is the salami? It's not an original Cuban without salami. If it has no salami, it's that Miami knock off. You were in Ybor not too long ago. You should know this.
