I can't say that I am really that familiar with Oldham County now that one of our Redhound sons has moved onto Pikeville but I do know they lost to Waggener by 8 last week.

 

What are Oldham's strong points, weak points, and what kind of offense do they run? Also who are some key players or gamebreakers that they have?

 

Corbin should be ready to go, full strength, and ready to get back to their winning ways at the Pigskin Classic after the game against Pikeville last year.

But I have serious reservations, only 40 yard total offense the last game. Their defense was great, not allowing Rock to score, but you can't win if you don't score. If Corbin can get their offense out of the mothballs (seems like that never got it out after last season) they should be fine.

The biggest problem with Corbin's offense is the loss of Blackwood's 800 receiving yards, Tate's 600 and also TE Lucas Henson. The trust and confidence needed between the QB & receiver is still lacking at this time.

 

They may open the offense up a little this week though, which hopefully will help.

That and the fact that the coaches may be putting too much pressure on the QB. He is a junior, but missed most of last season and he may still rusty. That along with lack of confidence in your recievers is a bad combo. Cashen is good enough to carry the load, but they have to keep the rush off him, and give him time to find his green recievers. Reps and Time will solve that problem.

Cashen is a junior but he is a 3 year starter at QB for the hounds and missed the first have of the season last year and came back with a very successful second half of the season. It is early in the season and most teams are still getting a feel each other at all positions, in given time the Hounds offense will be fine.

OC's Qb is a very good pocket passing QB. Tall, lean and accurate. They have a lot of numbers and will mix the offense up with different sets.

Although, given last weeks offensive output and the way their defense plays, a win is a win and 1 is a good as 100.....I would take it.
