My neighbor the animal lover

This is probably exhibit A why I have only recently lived in a neighborhood. Lady comes over, very nice and extremely polite. Out of the blue a juvenile robin awkwardly flies into the yard and of course, my 5yo English Pointer pounces on that joker like LRCW on a taco. She screamed like her hair burst into flames. Started yelling at my dog. Well I was polite until then. I said rather sternly that he's a BIRD DOG. I then told her that I'd bet her that that silly bird is unharmed and just slobbered on. I told him to bring it to me. When he got to me he dropped it in my hand. I gave it to her and said "he also retrieves". And I walked in the house.

So I have to ask...did the Robin fly away after a good slobber shake? Or said robin made you the "evil doer" of the block?

I really have no idea. I assume she bathed it, nursed it, groomed it and set it back out to be one with nature. My wife knew I didn't want to discuss the matter and we haven't.

They'd probably put me under the jail. Our house is at the end of a cul de sac and backs up to a large farm. Saw a coyote park it roughly 150 yards across the fence. I nearly had an aneurysm because I couldn't shoot it.

First problem: Neighbors close enough to walk onto your property without you being able to ditch and avoid.

Second problem: HOA

Third problem: Why do you have a juvenile robin in your yard this time of year ?

I'm not for certain, but I'm pretty sure if this happened at The Bird Nest that Mrs. BB would be using words even a word filter couldn't shake.....

Neighbors suck. Mine up the road has twice brought my son's dog back to us because he was "bothering" their dog. Lady, it's the country - everybody's dog is out running and bothering something. Ours is just a puppy looking to play. Smack your hands together and tell him to get and he will go home. Unlike her 30 bazillion feral cats hanging around their barn and making 50 bazillion baby feral kittens that all come to my house to eat my cats' food and pee in my garage.

Next time she walks my dog back, she is going to get an earful about the cats coming around my property. I may even drop a dead one or ten on her porch to make my point.

Neighbors are so over-rated.

Just becasue you have acreage, it does not give your dog free reign of your neighbors yard. Dog owners please control your pet. Be lucky she walked it back Verus it limping home.

As for @spindoc that bird was in his yard. Bird dog + bird = fair game.

One shot, no one would know where it came from.

I don't disagree and believe me, I'm the first to complain about loose dogs. He spends most of his days chained up in the yard. 99% of the time, he stays in the yard when we unchain him as long as we are outside with him.

It's always that 1% that leads to issues.
