Nike has come a long way in the equipment department. 10 years ago, they were just making high priced knock offs. The last couple years their products have emerge and are infinitely better than they once were. I have been playing the Vapor Driver for over a year now, and I've tried many in it's place. It's the most consistent longest driver I've hit in a long time. The slingshot irons were very forgiving game improvement iron and were somewhat revolutionary. They pushed the limits on a lot of things and while they never reached the widespread adoption of the average golfer, in the past 5-7 years their products were definitely on par with others. I know a lot of it was Tiger, but at one point a Nike player won 10 of 14 Majors and something like 24 overall. That's not happening with junk gear. Like them or not if you just sit here and bash and say they made bad clubs you're piling on a bandwagon that isn't qualified to comment on the matter.

Their shoes do not hold up at all, they didnt 20 years ago, they dont now. Their outwear is only good for about 10 washes or so before it begins to fade and the fabric begins to foil. Trust me, Ive coach 3 teams sponsored by Nike with Nike gear, it all was terrible product.

Careers paths of Woods, McIlroy & Michelle Wie all trended downward after joining Nike.

 

McIlroy wanted to switch putters recently, back to a Cameron, but no could do.

Last 2 pair of Nike shoes I had fell apart after 2-3 uses each. Tried to send them both back and they refused to replace. They have since been fired. No more Nike shoes for this kid.

Speaking of Rory I wonder how that works with Nike dropping their Club line. We might just see a turnaround in his game if he gets picked up by Calloway, Ping or Taylor Made.

Didn't Phil Mickelson once say how much better Tiger would be if he didn't have to play with that junk that his sponsor made him play with?

 

It seemed to me as if the more Nike Clubs he added to his bag the worse he got. Started with Irons then later fairway woods then driver and finally putter...Tiger knowing where his bread was buttered always said that he had the best equipment available but IMO his play started to drop off the more swoosh clubs he carried. His length plus lethal iron accuracy was what drove his game...just doesn't seem like he's had full trust in his irons for close to 10 years now.
