July 28, 201610 yr I'm curious how many innocent casualties happen because the "enemy" is embedded deeply into "innocent areas," such as hospitals, schools and such. I have always hated the loss of innocent lives, even in war. But sometimes the "other side" brings it upon themselves by hiding with the innocent population. That very well could be part of their strategy. Hide amongst the innocent because surely the US wouldn't send drones in on innocent people.

July 28, 201610 yr I agree that at least most of the time we try hard to avoid innocent deaths. But watch this video, over 30,000 children in Syria have been killed in 5 1/2 years. Even though most of the times we try to avoid it, every innocent death caused by a US bomb, drone, brings more and more people to hate the ones who killed their loved ones. As was asked about Chattanooga, or what if it was in your neighborhood? You're not concerned that your loved one or friend's death was an unfortunate one. We should be disturbed when civilians are killed. But I believe that what Hatz says is the main reason. It is not the intention of the US military to kill innocents. It is not the policy of the US military to target civilians, unlike the Taliban, Isis, Hamas, and virtually all radical Muslim groups today.

War isn't pretty and even though there hasn't been a war declared officially this is still a war. One that will last well past our lifetimes.
