The referee camp is a requirement every 4 years to be eligible for regionals and beyond.

Paging @TAC.......it's starting. :lol2:

My comments on 7/19 suggested that the entertainment was about 2-3 weeks away... seems to be right on schedule.

To think, I was waiting for the leaves to fall.

I would note for the record that the first dust up of the season was started by a football fan and not a soccer person.

Good point... probably a just a Futbol wannabe.

BGSG used to be a great event, but now it is price gouging high schools (who don't have much money), using the exception to their advantage. I wish KHSAA would allow schools to do something else as an exception that doesn't cost so much. It is insane how much the BGSG costs per team, and in 2015 it was probably the worst run that I can ever remember. I am guessing the only reason this continues is because of the relationship between BGSG and KHSAA in regards to referee evals.

What made 2015 worse?

For BGSG $450 per team for 3 games doesn't seem like such a price gouge. Is that up substantially from last year?

$450 per team is not expensive? That is quite expensive man, especially for high school (and with shortened games and a running clock). That is approaching low level college showcase entrance fees. Say you put in 3 teams (which a lot of schools do), that is $1350 for the weekend. A ton of money for most high school programs.

7-8 years ago it was like $250 per team. Costs have risen quickly!

Referees cutting games short. Limited water supply. Poor (or no) communication to schools/coaches. No shirts. Minimal sponsors.

LOL... the college coaches at a $450 "low level college showcase" would be as easy to find as the shirts at this year's BGSG!

Kettle korn? Cause if there wasn't even kettle korn then it's a total farce.
