I really do think you will see an interim deal this year and all this will be revisited next year. I am positive Coach Tracy will surely ensure this year is a productive one.

 

Hiring an Interim tells me they are not sure the two guys on staff are right for the job. Which seems crazy to me because both are very capable. It creates IMO a divide especially if the interim isn't being successful in the eyes of some that have influence. Doesn't sound like a good situation for the program.

I don't understand the concept of an interim coach in KY public HS athletics. We all are on one year contracts. All they have to say is "we think we can find a better coach", and let us go.

Plenty of options on the staff they already have. It will be smooth either way. Keep working Flyers!

They will be just fine. Think there are few capable bodies on staff that will make sure they stay successful. I wouldn't be surprised if after this year one of those guys becomes a permanent coach for a long time of the Flyers.

Current Coach Nick Sheridan was named head coach in an Interim Role for the 2016 season. Nick Has Coached at FCHS for a while was an Assistant for Ledford, Stepp, and Tracy. He was the only one currently an FCHS Teacher.

Congrats to Nick - he will do a good job.

To be fair they have to have "journalistic integrity" they might of known about it two weeks ago but you don't want to put something in print that isn't official. It's why you'll see things on Twitter hours before it's breaking news on ESPN. Most of us hide under our screen names, but those in the media can't.

The job posting for Head Football Coach appeared on the District website 6/27/2016....same day this thread appeared on BGP (I think). Print media (or at least their e-media components) need to move a little faster to stay in the game.
