Here's a statement today from Coach Mudd on why he stepped down. Sounds like he was a little burned out. Hope he finds his way back to Coaching after a little time off.

I give him credit for realizing it wasn't fair to his team to go through the motions and not give 100% to his student-athletes. I've seen a few coaches "mail it in" in their later years and then get let go.

Coach Mudd is one of the good ones....

Wonder if this had anything to do with what happened at Mercy?

Just checked the last decade of his career on khsaa, wow. You'd be hard pressed to find a better resume. You'd need a trophy case for that decade alone.

According to the Courier-Journal, the interim tag has been removed and Donnie Swiney is the new girls coach at E-town.

It should be---coach Swiney has paid his dues at etown----deserves this opportunity!
