Just curious--what are the rules for switching your pitcher? If it is apparent that the pitcher is not doing well, can you just switch?

With Zig, Raiders maybe wouldn't had to hit as much. We will never know. I think the coaches saw Beechwood throw their #4 in the game before and it worked, but St. Henry was just a little better than Beechwood's opponent , IMO.

 

NCC knocked St. Henry out of the all 'A'. Beechwood dimed St. Henry during the season with Wilder (jv) pitching a couple of innings and Huseman finishing them off.

Again, it's not like Mann was a slouch. He was the winning pitcher in a district and regional championship game last year and pitched in the state semi-finals last year with Scott. I still probably would have thrown my ace, but it wasn't a crazy decision not to in this case.

I've seen Mann pitch and he is a very good pitcher, which is what my point is. You throw your number one to try and make sure you advance and then come back with a pitcher like Mann in the next game. If there's no tomorrow then there's no sense in holding back your number one. If your number one gets bombed then you at least went down with your best but if you don't throw number one and yesterdays scenario happens your going to look foolish and get the heat that comes along with it. I've seen this scenario happen a lot over the years. Doesn't mean the coach isn't a good coach, just means he out smarted himself.

Congrats to St. Henry on the W. CJ on the bump elevates the Crusaders game. Timely hitting and limiting errors as always should help determine the outcome of their next game.

It's my understanding that the family moved. Probably didn't have much of a choice if that's the case. Mann certainly would have have been a huge help to Scott.

There are different rumors... Rumors are cancer. I heard it was his younger sister for softball because Scotts softball program is horrendous. Either way I heard he had a choice to stay at Scott or go to Ryle... It doesn't matter now.
